About Me
Journey, Method, IdentityMy Life in Dance
My name is Giordano Vanone, and dance has been a fundamental part of my life. It hasn’t just been a profession or a passion, but a journey filled with sacrifices, emotions, competitions, teaching, and great satisfaction.
I began my journey as a standard dance competitor, captivated by the elegance, technique, and harmony that characterize this discipline. Every practice session and every competition taught me the value of perseverance, discipline, and determination.
My competitive career led me to win the Italian Professional Standard Dance Championship three times, as well as to reach several European and World Championship finals—achievements that represent some of the most important and prestigious moments of my journey.
Competing means challenging not only others, but above all, oneself. It means striving every day to improve one’s posture, movement, musicality, and rapport with one’s partner. Through competition, I have learned to face difficulties, respect my opponents, and turn every experience into an opportunity for growth.
Over the years, the experience I’ve gained on the dance floor has naturally led me toward teaching. Being a standard dance instructor has become one of the most important and rewarding aspects of my career.
For me, teaching isn’t just about explaining steps or correcting a figure. It means understanding people, recognizing their strengths, and helping them fully express their potential.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the training and development of several National Champions and 19 World Champions across various dance sport federations and categories.
These achievements bring me extraordinary satisfaction. Behind every title my students have won lie years of hard work, sacrifice, mutual trust, and a constant pursuit of excellence.
Every student has a unique personality, sensibility, and way of experiencing dance. My role is to guide them on their journey with patience, expertise, and passion, helping them develop not only technique but also confidence, musicality, elegance, and inner strength.
In addition to my work as a competitor and teacher, I have gained significant experience as an organizer of dance events and competitions. Organizing an event requires vision, precision, responsibility, and strong coordination skills.
I have always sought to create events where dancers, instructors, judges, and enthusiasts can come together in a professional, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere. For me, every event represents an opportunity to celebrate dance and offer participants a meaningful and unforgettable experience.
In my Training Camps, I have always sought to create events where dancers, instructors, judges, and enthusiasts can come together in a professional, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere. For me, every event is an opportunity to celebrate dance and offer participants an experience they’ll never forget.
Among the projects that have defined my career is Fiesta Mediterranea, held at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona, Spain. An international experience born from the desire to bring together different people, cultures, and styles through the universal language of dance.
Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to share this journey with Catia Antonioli, my partner in dance and in life. Our partnership has been built on hard work, respect, trust, and a shared passion. Together, we’ve tackled experiences, projects, and challenges that have made our journey even more meaningful.
Today, looking back on my career, I recognize three aspects that deeply define me: that of the competitor, who taught me never to give up; that of the teacher, who has allowed me to train numerous champions; and that of the organizer, who enables me to turn ideas into concrete projects.
Dance has given me so much. It has taught me elegance, respect, discipline, and the value of human relationships. It has allowed me to meet people from different countries and cultures and has given me emotions that I will always carry with me.
My goal continues to be to pass on to the younger generations not only the technique of ballroom dancing, but also the love, dedication, and values that make dance a true art form and way of life.
